About James Hold

"First you're an unknown, then you write one book and you move up to obscurity." — Martin Meyers

I published my first book in 2004. It became an immediate collector's item. I know this for a fact as I have several hundred copies collecting dust in my attic. Critics everywhere said it belonged right up there between Ernest Hemingway and Robert E Howard—on an alphabetical bookshelf.

My influences include Rocky & Bullwinkle, 1950s sci-fi movies, and silver-age comics.

I live in Texas with my Princess wife, and cats Rocky and Dusty. You can contact me at jamesroyhold@gmail.com.

About the Series: Psycho Killer and Other Tales Told In Red
My stories are generally light. Here are some that are a little darker. A little redder.

This is a very interesting story, funny as well. Couldn't at first get to tell who was telling the truth, whether Holly was really pregnant for Buddy or whether Buddy made up the story about the vasectomy as an excuse, but then he wouldn't have gone far as to kill her if it wasn't the truth, guess Holly made all that up because Buddy was like well off and financially balanced.

Funny and interesting. And I have deleted my old review. The reason for which is: My native language is norwegian, and the way mr. Holden writes is "illegal" in norwegian, so I assumed it had to be a no no in american english - turns out I was completely wrong and I apologize.

I don't agree with Jacob Mossberg. I found that it is written well and doesn't need any correction.
The story is fascinating, I felt like a fly on the wall listening to a private conversation and found myself saying "Oh SH*T!" at the end.
Good little flash fiction here. (I hope it's fiction).
