Dan has been a writer, serious game designer and project manager for over 30 years - focusing his creative energies on science fiction, contemporary fantasy, immersive simulations and exploring technologies that can help enable the dispersion and sharing of knowledge.
Currently, Dan is an education manager for a non-profit in Chicago, where his role is to manage the organization's virtual classroom. Before that, Dan had worked for such companies as IBM, Allstate Insurance, Thomson Corporation and United Airlines.
Dan has also taught Video Game design at McHenry County College.
When not writing, Dan plays the bagpipes and listens to the Dropkick Murphys. He also likes to stare in awe at his collection of old video game systems and figure out when he'll have time to play Quest for the Rings for his Odyssey 2.
