About Dixiane Hallaj

Dixiane Hallaj spent eleven years living and working in the Middle East as part of her husband's extended family, gaining a deep understanding of the culture and the problems that face the Palestinian people. She recently interviewed women in refugee camps for her award winning doctoral dissertation. Dixie received her PhD in 2006 from George Mason University.
She currently lives in Purcellville, Virginia with her husband of 52 years, Muhammad Hallaj and their cat named "Dog."
