Wendy Blake married Anthony Blake in March 1970 in England. By 1976 Britain had joined the common market - the beginnings of the EU. Unfortunately, prices went up overnight, but wages stayed the same. Tony was beginning to struggle with the mortgage, by now he had three daughters; he couldn't see any other way out of the predicament other than to emigrate to Australia, which is what they did. Wendy had promised herself that once they arrived in Australia she would go to church, having been urged by her elder sister Ruth and her mother. Tony was happy to attend church with Wendy and the girls. On the table of the Government flat in which they were living was an invitation to the local Anglican Church; The flat was provided by the Australian Government because Tony was a tradesman, a plumber. With great trepidation they took their little family to church on the first Sunday they had arrived in Australia. Happy to report, both Wendy and Tony became deeply committed Christians. Wendy knew that Tony had never met his father and she also knew how much this affected him. With the advent of the internet she wasted no time in joining a website called 'GenesReunited' a site that concentrated on helping broken families to find each other. It wasn't long before Wendy made contact with a sister Tony didn't know existed...the rest is in the book! Since writing 'Sine Die - Without Another Day' Wendy has gone on to write another, much smaller, evangelistic book titled 'Obliviously Not'. Which she hopes reaches people who are searching for Spiritual answers to Spiritual questions. She is also in the throe's of writing another book about her own upbringing in what could only be described as a dysfunctional family. Having lived in Australia for 38 years, so far, Wendy and Tony now have eleven grandchildren, 8 boys and 3 girls. A wonderfully fulfilled life.
