About Alan Thompson

Raised on a farm in Eastern Ontario, Canada, but a love of driving fast cars eventually led to a move to California where roads were not covered in snow half of the year. A career as a software engineer in Montreal, Vancouver, and San Francisco was interrupted for a decade in the 1980's to live and work on a remote Central California cattle ranch while raising 2 children. A later move back to civilization in Monterey was followed by another stint with computers prior to retirement in Southern California.

Reviews

Review by: Jean MacIntyre on Nov. 23, 2011 :
This is a well-written novel with great descriptions of ranching in California. Would like to have seen more interaction and conversation in the early chapters, but enjoyed the story - especially the suspense at the end. Would make a great movie!
