Measles Alternative Treatments

The measles epidemics of the late 1940s were challenging to say the least. Doctors sought methods of weakening the contagion and two of the most relied upon treatments were gamma globulin and amidopyrine. The latter was used by several Chicago physicians as early as 1929.
