After obtaining this book from a friend, I found it an emotionally absorbing page-turner! The Poisoned Crop is about a Jewish male’s dramatic experiences as an “outsider” teen in a small town in Ohio in 1956 after he falls for an African-American girlfriend. I just recommended this excellent first novel to friends and family members! I wish I could write fiction as well as Daamri! I’m impressed by the dialog, plot, pace, character development, evocation of 1950s life and events, and local ambience! I look forward to reading the next book of this talented fiction writer! I rate this book with 5 stars and recommend it to novel fans!
