About Alex Focus

I am a retired Science teacher and a father and a grandfather.

My favorite author is Jack Vance.

I really like birds, especially corvids and raptors.

I believe animals communicate in ways we have not been able to understand, yet.

Climate change? It's real and the Earth will be fine, and we will find a solution in the nick of time as we always do.

Oh what a lovely story although I found myself tearing up, I also felt very warm fuzzies. I follow several of the raptor cams around the country - it is egg laying time! Can't wait for the babies. Thank you for a great story that brings to life so many emotions and thoughts. M

What a poignant story about eagle love and life. At times my heart clutched others it was all warm and fuzzy. Great story.

I found this book delightful and so reminiscent of the Decorah Eagles that I watch on their webcam. Luckily I've never seen one get injured - that would break my heart.
Just as I cry sometimes when I watch them or hear of their tribulations and their deaths (all the 2014 eaglets were electrocuted - I cried so hard when I read of Four's demise just this past March), so, too, did I cry with your Eagles. I also laughed and smiled as I read your story. Thank you.

What a beautiful, although at times sad story. I, too, love birds and this was such an emotional story.

Do you observe any of the raptor webcams? I love watching the different ones. I worry sometimes that one of the siblings will accidentally injure another sibling but it is so cool to watch how the parent prepare their young for adulthood.

Unlike you, I am not so sure if we will be able to fix climate change in time, but I am hopeful. The earth may survive, it just may be a very different world from what we live in.

Thank you for a warm, fuzzy, slightly teary story! :-)
