Asteroid

Rated 4.00/5 based on 2 reviews
Interstellar astronaut Helene Kirsch surveyed asteroids for a privately funded research station in an outlying star system. Overworked and underpaid, she flew through the belt until her ship's scanning equipment met a rocky mass with high interference. If her intuition was correct, good things would follow and Hammond could deliver a steady paycheck for once.

Review by: James Jenkins on March 22, 2015 :
The is a science fiction story about a persons and their interaction with something unsuspected. The person view point was very well done 4 stars there. The science not so well done 2 stars.

The vehicle used for space exploration is a retired military fighter with a crack in the cargo hold. Space + Crack = BAD, Fighter + Cargo hold = BAD. Additionally the unsuspected discovery is a life form that has multiple issues.

This is the first piece of work I've read since joining Smashwords.
What a wonderful little sci-fi story. Pity it wasn't longer and would love to read what happens next.
I really enjoyed this.
