I highly recommend this book for anyone who is thinking of joining or leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses, or for anyone who wants to learn more. Mr. Walker describes the Witnesses' beliefs in a way respectful to those who hold them, but illustrates many problems with them, especially with respect to critical thinking.
Many of his critiques can be applied to various mainstream religions as well; the JWs are not unique when it comes to abuse, rewriting history, and reliance of logical fallacies. Religion in and of itself isn't the problem, of course, but the lack of critical thinking that religion has a tendency to foster. Faith and critical thinking can certainly coexist if we want it to, but some religions, like the Watchtower and Bible Tract Society (JWs) are an enemy to critical thinking.
