A Photographer's Journey

This book describes my Journey as a photographer from novice to accomplished amateur and subsequently to professional. It is not a "How To" guide but rather a description of the path that I have taken and outlines the decisions, reasons and processes that I have adopted in my journey as an Artist, including my Artist's Statement. This is the introductory volume to a planned series of books which will outline how and why I take Photographs, how I have developed my style and the various equipment, techniques and processes that I use, as well as the path that has brought me to use these processes. Whilst this series is not strictly intended to be a 'How To' manual there will certainly be plenty of detail about how I make my images, how I process them and how I print them. This book is a Photographers Biography so to speak - it details my development as a photographer ranging from equipment and all of the decisions that might go into those choices, through to 'My Artist's Statement' and calling at a variety of other points describing how and what I shoot. There is information about Landscapes, Wildlife, Models, Portraiture and Macro shooting here. The details of shooting in these various genres will be expanded upon in subsequent volumes. I shoot in both Film and Digital and in Large and Ultra Large format so there is plenty here to whet the appetites of both the experienced and the budding Photographer. Of course, I have illustrated the text liberally with a wide variety of images all of which are copyright to me and were taken by me.

This is a further enhancement of my ongoing process of providing resources to other photographers to enable them to develop their style, vision and artistic intent having grown out of my Youtube channel but also my blog and posts on G+. I hope that anyone reading this account of my Photographic life will find it of interst and that there are some things that may be new to some people.

In subsequent volumes I will provide detail on Alternative Printing process, on Shooting in the various genre that I like to shoot as well as my own take on the Photobook.
