About Albina Hume

I was born and raised in Ukraine, in a small village called Volchanovka in the Donetsk region. Currently, I live in South Africa, where my husband and I have dedicated our lives to preventing the South African rhino population from becoming extinct by breeding rhinos for future generations. In the last six years, we have bred over 500 white rhinos. At the same time, I have become a pro-rhino activist, advocating for an end to the war on trade in rhino horn that only creates conditions for illegal trade and results in killing of rhinos and also people in Africa.
I founded the Facebook page Future4Rhino, calling for legalising trade in horn – a renewable product – to help create harmony between African people and their natural heritage.

Review by: NataliiaKuprinenko on May 20, 2015 :
I was honored to be one of that people, who got the copy of “Miss Fortune” among the first. That evening I opened this book just for looking it through, but I didn't notice how some hours passed and how I have read almost a half of the book. Two days later I turned over the last page. This story is a great example, how our dreams may come true. But the main thing that we must do for it is stop living in the world of our fears, and let our dreams lead us through all our life. Albina’s path to the happiness was very thorny and full of mistakes, and just after she understood, that she want to “be yourself no matter whatever they say”, everything fell into place. This easy-reading memoir book will be very interesting as well as useful for everybody, who likes stories that makes us think about some important things and sense of life.
With best wishes to the author and to all readers of “Miss Fortune”, Nataliia Kuprinenko, the Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Editor of scientific medical literature, Kyiv, Ukraine, May,20,2015
