Rose the Irish Setter and Kate the English Springer Spaniel, best friends for more than a decade, discovered several years ago that they had an amazing talent: they can blog. Since then, they have been writing down their observations, experiences and fun times and now they are ready to share them with you in their brand new book, "Rose and Kate Unleashed."
While "Rose and Kate Unleashed" is appropriate for any age it is not a children's book. Rose and Kate's two-legged companions, Brian and Dee, have been on these adventures every step of the way and helped Rose and Kate translate their dog vocabulary so humans will understand. For Kate, for example, "the sucky-uppy thing" is the vacuum cleaner. And the "tappity thing" is the computer keyboard.
Dogs see the world much differently than people do and in this book they open up their world for us to see, with all its excitement and humor and vibrant color. They are special girls who bring joy to everyone they meet through their bright and exuberant personalities. Rose is a bit edgy and vain about her beautiful red looks, Kate is a bit wacky, with an attention span of about 5 seconds.
In this book you will see:
How Rose and Kate have learned to successfully train their two-legged companions on important matters such as waking up right before dawn each day and immediately filling their food bowls rather than wasting time making coffee or checking email.
What they think of the Halloween costumes Dee makes for them each year. Rose: "Fairy princesses? Seriously?"
Why the seemingly harmless garden hose is a dangerous thing to have around and must be watched at all times. (It can be used to give dogs a bath).
How to cope with the stress and excitement of moving. First you totally freak out, then you find out everything's going to be OK.
Surviving trips to the vet, including that humiliating butt thermometer.
The fine art of stealing food without the humans noticing. Over and over.
How Rose is dealing with getting older. Her motto: 12 is the new 7!
Why Kate loves to watch pro football on TV and has created her own touchdown celebration.
And you will read their stirring eyewitness accounts of how Rose saved Brian from being bitten by a rattlesnake and how she helped prevent a neighbor from being hit by a car.
Rose and Kate have had wonderful lives so far, and are looking forward to many more adventures. Please join them on their exciting ride and see the world from their unique point of view!
