About Shawn Michel de Montaigne

I'm a writer, illustrator, and fractalist. A wonderer, wanderer, and an unapologetic introvert. I'm a romantic; I'm inspired by the epic, the authentic, the numinous, and the luminous. Most of all, I'm blessed.

I'm very deeply involved with an extraordinary, beautiful woman who has been with me now for a decade. We have forged, through awful times and amazing ones, a life that I feel every morning is worth waking up to and contributing to.

I'm interested in connecting with folks who enjoy my art and would like to be part of whichever world or worlds I've discovered and shared. I'm deeply political, philosophical, and opinionated; and I have no patience with manipulators, salespersons, stalkers, bullshit artists, and the psychotic and insane. For that reason, I'm not everyone's cup o' tea. I'm good with that.

Most of all, as I said at the beginning, I'm blessed. If you would know anything about me or my attitude as I go through my days, that's the truest and most relevant one.

This is by far one of the best books I've ever read, I am highly recommending it to all my friends and book lovers! Download it and start reading...You will embark on a journey to a world where nothing is what it seems and everything is possible: grow wings and fly when you need to, travel between worlds, take a walk in your soul....kill demons and find strength when you thought you lost everything there was to loose. Simply amazing, my words don't do it justice...Mr.Montaigne is a wonderful storyteller with a beautiful mind. I invite you to read it and experience it for yourself - you'll love it! :)

Wow! What can I say???? This has become, by far, my favorite book ever!!!! I became sucked into a world where impossible does not exist! This book gripped me so much that I've caught myself looking at my "reality" in a different way. Are the gulls, hawks, terns, cormorants, geese....dolphins, sharks, waves, it truly what I'm seeing or a part of a world where these things are My protection??? Could I close my eyes & walk off our local pier into a new world.
The story telling in this book is so complete that it leaves nothing untold. It is told so completely thorough that you can actually see what's being told. You can see, feel emotions, smell, hear and almost touch the magnificent "other reality" as it's laid before you.
Amazing, genius, perfection ... do NOT come close to describing "MELODY AND THE PIER TO FOREVER." I wish there were more than 5 stars....

To read an epic is to take a journey. The readers satisfaction at the end of the trip depends on how well the author has navigated us through the tale. Mr. Montaigne has crafted the world of Melody and the Pier to Forever into a most compelling read. It is mathematical, philosphical and spiritual. It is the human drama, individually and collectively, in fantasy form. Yes, it is the story of two worlds, of good and evil; but at the core it is the story of an unusual friendship which becomes the key to everything else. I am captivated by stories within stories that intertwine to emerge as one great story and Melody more than delighted me in that regard. The book begins with Melody, and the fabulous cliff hanger in the final chapter, ends with Melody, but the itinerary in between will make it hard to put down!

Shawn has accomplished what many authors fail to do when they take that terrifying leap into publishing. He has created an amazing epic story which from the very beginning draws the reader into a story which is beautifully crafted. Each character has been lovingly & patiently brought to life. The storyline is one which honestly drew me in & kept me enraptured. There are so many elements in Melody & The Pier To Forever...magic, love, suspense, is an amazing story, one which you'd expect from a much more seasoned author, in fact in an era where well established & "popular" authors have dropped the ball in their originality & magic, Shawn puts them to shame with the first book of what I know will be an amazing epic journey! Can't wait for the second book!

When one reads a book as powerful as Melody and the Pier to Forever, it lodges in your heart and cannot escape. As an author and avid reader I thirst for an epic novel that moves me, and in this one stands way above the ordinary.
From a larger perspective, the novel serves to validate all the hard work that we authors have poured into our works, because this book is better than most ever published, printed or offered as e-books.
I cannot find adequate words express how grateful I am to Shawn Montaigne for writing this book. I wish that the site would allow a six star rating, because this book certainly deserves that. I hope that more are to come.
I recommend this book to anyone who longs for a fun and serious read and wants to be consumed by a novel.

Finally ... the Official Release!!

I've been waiting for part six of this book to come out for what feels like ages! I took advantage of the offer to read the first five parts free and Melody and the Pier to Forever quickly skyrocketed to the top of my list of favourite genre books. To give you an idea, my favourite kinds of books are epic fantasy and sci fi sagas like Dune, His Dark Materials, Hyperion, and Winter of the World.

Melody and the Pier to Forever has all the scope of these books and a great ensemble cast. I don't know who I'm most fascinated with ... the quiet teenage girl who turns out to be a powerful mage called a Mathematician, her best friend who's really an angel who can travel between worlds, or the exiled king Conor who broke all allegiances to rise up against a tyrant.

Perhaps my favourite character of all is Maggie. At the start of our book, Maggie is a single mom living in the suburbs, and afraid of everything and everyone. By the end of this first book, she has witnessed the destruction of an entire world, a heroic uprising against a soul-eating monster, and the rise of a terrible empire. She emerges from all of this ready to do whatever it takes to defeat that evil. This book is really about people finding themselves within the context of an epic fantasy adventure.

This book ends on a major cliffhanger, but to my understanding it is the first of a trilogy.

You will also like this book if like me you are a fan of mythopoetic writers like CS Lewis, George Macdonald, Charles Williams, JRR Tolkien, etc. There is a lot of philosophy and metaphysics in this book, which just makes it even more awesome!

There is something for everyone here--if you like action and adventure, you'll find plenty of it, if you like character driven novels, this is one the best there is. Download it today, you won't regret it!!!
