I was born on February 20th, 1973 to Steven and Patricia White in Elgin, Il. After my parents had separated, my mother raised my younger sister and me. We moved around a lot until I was twelve years old. I went to five different grade schools in seven years. Cartography and drawing cityscapes were a great interest of mine. If we had self-publishing back when I was ten like we do now, I would have self-published at least one book back then. I had compiled a book of all the jokes I had known, some not so appropriate for kids my age. In 1991, I graduated high school from Elgin High school. Biking and hiking are two of the main ways I get to enjoy nature. My dad got me a job as an insulation installer in 1994. I struggled to work in the dusty and dirty conditions while my dad did not think I could make it. When I heard what he thought that, I had to prove I could do it. I Had to conquer my very real fear of heights. Time has flown by, and I have been in this trade for twenty years now. I Bought my first house in 1996 and married the love of my life, Tanya Callahan in 1998. Together we now have four children and one grandchild. I try to pass down my love of nature by taking the kids annually to my favorite parks. By God’s grace in 2005, I became baptized and currently active in my church. Somewhere inside of me, I guess there was an aspiring author and in 2013 when I turned 40, The Means was created and self-published. There was one more story I had to tell, Don’t Count to Ten. The story is inspired by an old house in one of the neighborhoods I grew up in Elgin, Il and all of the different kinds kids I had met and played with, during my growing years. Don’t Count to Ten, was published in 2015. I took more pleasure in creating the later than the first. The Means is a violent tale and Don’t Count to Ten is geared towards children. I wanted to tell a story my kids could read. I am not sure which type of genre I will write again or what I will do next.
