Jen Winters fell in love with paranormal romance after her daughter was born and she needed a way to escape reality for a few minutes a day. She loved it so much she decided to take her own pen to it. The world of the Guardians was developed through deeply irreligious conversations with her father who likes to misinterpret scripture as often as humanly possible and a good dose of did-I-just-read-that-! when looking into ancient near eastern mythology and scripture.

I was immediately pulled into the story and enjoyed every word to the end.
I was actually disappointed when it ended. The story could have gone on and on.
I was very impressed with the flow of the story. The descriptions of characters and situations weren't overly wordy. Totally sufficient to keep you in sync with what was going on and who the players were.
Hard to believe that someone can have such an incredible imagination and can't put it to paper. Bravo! !!
I'm so looking forward to more stories from Jenn!

This is the story of Ambrose, a fallen angel who just wants to do his job as assigned before his fall from heaven. He is bitter over his lot in life; banished to Earth with his powers limited when compared to before his fall, and thousands of years to pass in between jobs that he can do, only to find he has been replaced by Guardians who do his work. It is only after he meets the Guardian who is destined to become his soulmate that he begins to see his life for what it truly is.
I enjoyed learning about the angels, demons, werewolves, and other supernatural creatures in Miss Winter’s world. Her writing is great and if life did not get in the way of my reading time, I would have finished this book in one sitting. Such is the pull of the world and characters she has created.
Another reviewer stated that you do not need to read the first book in the series to understand what is going on in this book, and for the most part, that is correct. Personally I have not read the first book, and there were a few things that left me wondering what I had missed, but nothing major enough to diminish the experience of reading this book. But, I will be picking up a copy of the first book to satisfy my curiosity.
Full disclosure, I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. With that said, I would recommend this series to any who are interested in paranormal romance.
