ABOUT THE AUTHOR
As a writer, Angelin Sydney interweaves romantic stories with thrilling plots that twist and turn in many ways.
Since moving to Australia twenty-five years ago, she has had numerous incarnations. She was a banker, an insurance seller, housing loan broker, and home-stay mother to literally hundreds of international students. Over the years, she has also become a small business owner, casual kitchen hand and currently, a live-in nanny. So, one can say, she has been around.
Her most consistent role, however, is being a mother to her four wonderful children, one of whom has gone ahead leaving her devastated and heartbroken. It was his untimely departure that motivated her to write stories to help others heal, laugh, hope and dare to dream.
She is a believer in the kindness of people, so by extension, this has been the usual theme of her stories. She believes in redemption, love, and purpose. Every story she writes reflect these values.
For her, writing is as essential as breathing. The only reason she’d stop doing it is if she were incapacitated or dead. Working for a living gets in the way of her writing which she finds very sad. In the ideal world, all she’d be doing is entertaining her readers. This is her utmost wish.
As a novelist, her style is to keep conversations realistic. So funnily enough, although she doesn't swear, her characters do; perhaps this is her unconscious release.
The questions most readers ask her of her writing style: What makes you distinct from other writers?
There are two things: One, she likes to infuse her stories with what she calls the "everyday moment" because it adds flavour to the narrative. It gives it authenticity. For instance, if someone was depress she'd have the character watch a lot of infomercials on television. From her observation, this is a reality of life, when we are struggling, we do mindless activities like sleep or watch the paint dry.
Two, she likes the interplay of light and dark. "That's life, isn't it?" She said, adding that, "even in our period of mourning, there is laughter. And when we are happy, sadness still creeps into our lives. As a result of this, my stories tend to be a roller-coaster ride. A lot of ups and downs."

A blend of thriller, mystery and romance that works well. The pacing is good. There is a bit of a batman type vibe to the husband (SWAT team member with his own resources and connections).

Grabbed me from the start
This book blew my mind after reading just the first few pages. It’s so descriptive that you almost feel lost reading it, a hard trait to find in many books. The book starts off telling us about Queen and her husband, a forensic scientist, and a SWAT officer. Then right in the first chapter it has a turning point on which Queen witnesses a murder off duty and that’s when the story really starts. Through this, her husband is challenged to pay more attention to her from the publicity of what happened in the after affect of the murder. (I’m sure by the title you can find out what that was (;) A lot of this book had an emotional hold on me because of things that I expected from characters and when they let me down. It’s sad at times and its joyful at times. I guess you could say this book is a rollercoaster of emotions. All in all, I have to say I really do recommend this book as it’s an amazing story with mystery, romance, and thrill.

Wow! That's the word that came to mind. I was looking to read a book with strong female character but in this book I got two. I liked that it wasn't clichéd and it's so full of cliffhangers and surprises. There was a chapter that made me cry. I have no doubt it will make you cry, too. It was worth the 0.99 I paid for it.

Stunning plot! Well written.
I love the kick-ass heroines. They are the sort of characters that should be written more about, not lame sex-starved women.
Dynamic and fast-paced. Loved it to bits.

I was lucky enough to read an advance copy of 'Lifesaver', and loved every page. We're quickly introduced to a couple of very strong characters in Queen, a forensic scientist, and G, a badass SWAT officer. They've found happiness together but it soon gets blown away when Queen receives a lot of unintentional attention from the media - and the public, and some psychos...!
I was really impressed by how the writer managed to create a believable scenario that holds together some really powerful romantic, thrilling and action-packed scenes. A lot of books have some of those, but I think this is the first that has all of them. There are some very heart-felt scenes in this that moved me to tears - not to mention a couple of hardcore heroes who are so realistic it's scary. I'm not sure how the author knows enough about the military mindset to make such utterly convincing characters - but maybe I don't want to know! I suspect she's secretly in the SAS.
I don't think I've ever written this in a review, but there's enough here to satisfy both male and female readers completely. I'll be looking out for more from this author.
