The author describes his plan as “splitting the parallel verses into individual words, which can be aligned on a word-for-word and thought-for-thought basis.” On the whole this plan works out well. Occasionally some words unique to one Gospel are left out because the thought is repeated. E.g., scene 5.1.2, the words “and buy themselves food,” Matthew 14:15, are left out, because Mark 6:36 and Luke 9:12 have the same thought expressed differently: “and buy themselves something to eat.” “Although this kind of “continuous narrative” of the Four Gospels has been created by others (e.g., Cheney, 1969) the “Synoptic Gospel” is an original work which may be used on its own or to supplement other harmonies. This work will be a helpful addition to one's personal library. The exacting division of scenes (the epub index lists 961 scenes, the book states "The Story of The Life of Jesus in 360 Scenes") and the author's numbering system giving chapter.act.scene (e.g.,5.1.2) allows the table of contents to be used as an index of Gospel events, which is very useful
