About Zachary Seibert

Zachary Seibert escaped from a dream he had some three decades ago, and is most likely a figment of his own imagination. He is the creator of the Vast Land, an original setting assembled from loose bits of cosmology found hiding in his subconsciousness, and is co-author of the Calefactory series with Chris Capps. He lives on coffee and speculative fiction at a desk in his pre-frontal cortex, which has a very good view of the midwestern United States.

Highly recommended for both fans of dark fantasy and newcomers to the genre. Whatever you're expecting, make room for surprises.

Dark, bleak, and paradoxically hopeful, Oblation gives readers insight into the meaning of friendship and overcoming personal history. The characters in this story are NOT blonde haired muscle bound Adonises or gritty too-cool-for-school antiheroes. They're desperate, withered, dirty, and ultimately more human than I generally expect to find in a fantasy series. When reading Oblation, each death resonated with dreadful meaning, each small victory carried real power to it, and the ultimate conclusion (which it pains me not to spoil) left me with a feeling of satisfaction, eager to get to the next work.
