Kara Allen is an emerging writer born and raised in Fremantle, Western Australia. She is a Creative Writing graduate of Edith Cowan University. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in Edith Cowan University’s Creative Arts Exhibition Catalogue (2013) and Graduate Show (2014), and the annual poetry magazine Primo Lux. Her short story, Unverletzt, placed third in the Talus Prize competition (2014).

Unverletzt is a wonderful historical short story about a German family living in Australia at the time that Adolf Hitler comes to power. It's definitely interesting to consider how German's living in other countries would view this news - definitely worth the read.
