About Nicholas Galt

Nicholas Galt has written since he could form words with a pen. His fiction is an eclectic collection of short stories and longer works with a distinct flavour to them. He has published numerous short stories in various anthologies and literary magazines. And he also wrote non-fiction articles for a magazine for a few years but was drawn back to fiction. Nicholas Galt has an unmistakeable style that reaches underhandedly into the readers mind and offers a distinctive view of the world.

I was intrigued by the description - that's what initially drew me to this book.
Overall I thought it was well written with good character interaction. I also liked the fact that I could relate to certain places in the book, as I have also been to Coober Pedy.

Review by: Brien Miller on April 29, 2011 :
This short starts a little heavy, and the simple events are a bit overwritten. I would likely advise that the author try to trim down his word usage, to simplify, so that the 'language' doesn't get in the way of the 'message'.

All and all, on the 3rd page, I was able to settle my mind into the writing style a bit, and I enjoyed the interactions between the characters. The casual, yet nervous air was well presented, and by the end, I was wishing the story wasn't so short, but I can see and respect why the author stopped where they did.
