Rupert is the Managing Director and Chief Instructor of HASP Training Limited, a company he formed in 2011 to prepare business travellers to avoid trouble whilst travelling abroad.
Prior to starting HASP, Rupert spent 5 years training the BBC and ran courses in Delhi, Islamabad, Kenya as well as back in the UK to undertake their journalistic jobs in some of the world’s most unsafe areas.
As a ten year old, Rupert was glued to the TV after school as The Falklands War rolled out in 1982. But at 18 it was to Art College in Bournemouth and then Cornwall, which would explain the graphics in the book (so it wasn’t a COMPLETE waste of time) and then a career in the Territorial Army.
Rupert has served in the British Army Reserves (it was called the TA when he joined in 1990) and has served in Iraq, Bosnia and Afghanistan. As well as taking part in exercises all around the world.
When not running courses, writing articles, books and doing BD (or attempting to) he can be found weeding his vegetable plot at home, keeping fit and adoring his kids, and his lovely wife obviously.
