This book was recommended to me as I like a good mystery, thriller type of story. It measured up to what I expected and more.
Great series and so much story. I'm now a fan of Inspector Martinelli and look forward to more.
I recommend this to those who like realistic mystery, thriller with a few vampires and a lot of intrigue.

This is a story about Inspector Martinelli who has to find vampires hiding inside the Vatican. He works for the Vatican City police and has been given the job of solving five murders to begin with. Easy to read which I found to be a pleasure. The second part is where he goes to Bavaria trying to find Royal vampires and gets involved in finding Nazi gold and missing children. This was another easy to read story and very exiciting. The last part, The Aesinas Codex, was also a pleasure to read.
The Inspector sees like an ordinary man who has to solve a lot of problems. It is a believable story and not far fetched like a lot of vampire stories.
I recommend this book to those that like mystery and detective, thriller suspense and some realistic vampires in the mix.

I enjoyed the whole book. A vampire in the Vatican is where we meet Inspector Martinelli and his team. A few gruesome deaths and some pretty tough situations. The next part, Nun with a Gun takes the Inspector to another country but this time he's on vacation, but not really. He's out to hunt vampires and gets caught up looking for Nazi gold. Both were great stories on there own. Last is the Aesinas codex, searching for the ancient document and more vampire hunting.
One of the best detective mysteries, with a little horror thrown in, I've read in a very long time.

I agree with Vito Veii, this is an excellent series.
Starting with a vampire in the Vatican continuing through Nun with a Gun and reaching the Aesinas Codex, the inspectors main goal is to find and kill vampires.
He is very likeable as you get to know him and has to deal with so many other investigations along the way. It seems to me that his main motivation is revenge, a friend is killed in the first book (a vampire in the Vatican) and everything goes on from there.
Nazi gold in Bavaria, finding the Aesinas Codex and getting it back to the Vatican, finding and killing vampires of course.
A most enjoyable read from beginning to end.

Hello, Vampire lovers. Do you like stories with mystery and intrigue? Do you enjoy blood, guts and gore? (For the record I don't) Have you ever thought about going on a vampire hunt and getting some? Well, then, this series is for you. Join Inspector Martinelli on his adventures, as he attempts to seek out evil and destroy it.

If you want to scare yourself silly, read the books in the middle of the night, with no one else in the house. This is an excellent series, enough said.
