I enjoyed this story so much. The evocation of a little boy's lonely childhood, wrestling with terrors of which he dares not speak, was masterfully sympathetic and plausible. The reasonably well-meaning but insensitive parents are recognisably authentic, too, and the innovative use of language
is most pleasing, without being intrusive or interrupting the steady building up of dread as we hurtle towards the end...
I also loved the casual onomatopoeia ('clink, glug' !). Very visual, would make a great short film.
