When faced between a guaranteed paycheck in an office or in sales, or allowing my heart to follow a path paved with the ink of my pen, I have to follow my heart. I have to write. My work has touched activists, veterans, and politicians. I have conducted interviews with Senators and Congressmen, college professors, activists, and musicians. The work, published primarily through The Fifth Column News, has helped this organization to go from an idea over a late night phone call to monthly visits of over 250,000 readers.
While helping The Fifth Column News grow to become a widely read and highly respected news outlet, I have also been working on my first eBook, a collection of poems and short stories. Ever creative, and always looking for a good story, I find that alternating between styles of writing has helped me draft better articles, and tell better tales, in language that is artistic without being overbearing or flowery.
What follows here is that eBook. It's contents, of poems and paintings and stories, are the collection of entries into notebooks inscribed in coffee houses around the world. These contents are the creative outlet from my activism and journalism. Essentially, what follows is an autobiography of my living and my loving.
