Felony Flats is a collection of short stories set on the east side of Portland, Oregon. The narrator is a twenty something ex marine that everyone calls Sport. It is through the eyes of this latter day Huck Finn we see the world of Felony Flats, a nickname the Portland Police gave the Lents district shortly after World War Two. The collection includes comedies, farces, satires, tragedies, coming of age stories, parables, minimalist fiction, crime dramas, an homage to Shakespeare's Mid Summer Night's Dream, Sherwood Anderson's I'm a Fool and Damon Runyon's The Brain Goes to Brooklyn.
