About Elaine Donadio

Author and Reading Specialist at New York City Schools, Elaine Donadio is a New York City girl by birth and by choice. Her characters reflect the urban lifestyle. She writes about what she loves and spends hours researching facts so her books feed your head, your heart and your soul. She's concerned about the effects of human carelessness on the world in which we live.

Learning is the point but better viewed through the wondering eyes of a character whose experience communicates information and feelings as the world unfolds its secrets. You'll meander through facts, following a path that gently leads to what was previously unknown. Like a flower blooming in unhurried stages, you'll learn about our world in the context of personal experience.

The Ocean's Way, a lovely children's book by Elaine Donadio, now welcomes a poetry companion filled with colors, information about sea life, and a learning experience for its protagonist, Holly, who is enjoying nature and marine life in Florida. The Beach is an in -depth discussion of coral reef which are "composed of piles of coral skeletons."and..The Waves are so like Holly, who is "random, unpredictable and
transmitting surface energy." While The Dolphin, an "intelligent, graceful breathing" and constant friend to humans will be "loved" and "admired" by Holly as she continues on her path of self and glides through this poetic book of adventure, colorful photos and into a wonderful learning experience. This book is for young eight to twelve year old children and for all readers who are "young at heart." (each chapter specializes in a different area of marine life.) Quite enjoyable!
