If you like paranormal romance mixed with adventure, erotism, a variety of supernatural creatures, and a tale of epic proportions, then I highly recommend The Flame and the Arrow by Emigh Cannada. Ms. Cannada has a talent for fleshing out the main characters and creating realistic dialogue. I, in particular, enjoyed visiting this magical world, though I thought the descriptions and details slowed down the pace too much.

When the portal to this realm closes and Annika Brisby becomes trapped in a parallel universe to earth, wood nymphs take her to the elves in hopes of finding a way back. There, she encounters mysteries about herself and learns a bit about a prophecy that includes her and members of the elven family. I think you will enjoy how it all works out.

The Flame and the Arrow won't be the only book in the Annika Brisby series that I read. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next to Annika and Talvi.

It's a great read to escape our dreary reality. Sometimes I had to stop and ponder where the story line bent a little but it stayed on track to an enjoyable read. I did feel that their should have been more emotion as to the fact there was a grandmother a few times great in the mix and even later the excuse of not being human felt too much a lie. Once I read the next two books in the series to see if it flows a bit more smoother, I might change the 4 star to a fiver. Still worth the read.

I don't want to give away too because I don't want to spoil it for other people who haven't read the book. I must say Emigh Cannaday outdid herself. I have read one of her previous book: Release and Catch and I enjoyed it. However, in the flame and arrown, I liked how the author created the places and painted it in mind that it wasn't hard for me to imagine it. I couldn't put the book down!
I will definitely recommend this book to my friends as well as everybody I know who loves fantasy. It was awesome!

I can’t say this enough….I love fantasy of all types. So when I was approached with the opportunity to review The Flame and The Arrow (and after reading the synopsis), I literally jumped at this chance.

I wasn’t let down.

This book takes you through a journey through a parallel universe where you meet ogres, fairies, elves, vampires, wood nymphs and druids. Annika herself finds out some very interesting information about herself during this journey.

I loved the mostly love story between herself and Talvi. At some points very sexual (stress very, there is a BDSM scene in there that rivals a certain Grey book) and at some points sweet, I thought it was interesting to see their relationship evolve to where it did.

The other storylines (Yuri/Konstantine, Finn/Hilda are a couple) were very fun to read also and added to the plot, instead of taking away. Plus there’s the matter of Talvi’s secrets. The author didn’t reveal them all at once, instead she dragged them all out over the course of the book….which made it very, very, very interesting to read.

The ending was very bittersweet and it was written exactly how I imagined it to be. I won’t say that I wasn’t surprised by it, though….lol.

Will I read this book again? Yes!!!

Will I reccomend this book to family and friends? Yes but with a warning of the intense sex scenes.

Age range: Adult. Again, because of the intense sex scenes.

Disclaimer: I received The Flame and the Arrow from Emigh Cannaday for free for my honest review. All opinions stated in my review are mine and mine alone.

This. Is a well written book integrating human life with elfin, fairy and other mythical beings. The character development is wonderful and the storyline takes many interesting twists and turns. It is a long book but continually captured my attention and yearning for more.

I'm usually not a fan of fantasy novels, but I'm very glad I picked this book up! The author does an amazing job of bringing a new world to life. Her words paint such a pretty scenery it's easy to picture in your head. The personalities of each character in the story is well thought out and developed. They may be elves and fairies, but they still have basic human qualities that make them easy to relate to. Overall, it's fantastic and I can't wait to read the sequel!
