About Bill Green

Bill Green was born in West Bromwich, England in 1936. He was evacuated to Exmouth in Devon at the outbreak of war in 1939. When the war finished he moved to Canvey Island in Essex, before going to Elmbridge Boarding School in Cranleigh, Surrey. At age seventeen he joined the Royal Navy and served in submarines for twenty-five years. After leaving the Royal Navy he emigrated to South Africa and thirteen years later emigrated to Australia. He is married, has five children and lives in Perth, Western Australia.
