Born in London at the tail end of the swinging '60s, Michael R. Brown has carved out his own space in writing and life. His youthful jobs ranged from forklift driver to securities analysis. Early in college he discovered the then-forgotten feminist writer Mary MacLane (1881-1929), whose work he researched and reprinted in the following years. In 2009 he published the well-reviewed experimental memoir "She and I: A Fugue", and several years later published the first complete Mary MacLane anthology - "Human Days: A Mary MacLane" (Petrarca Press, 600 pages). He is presently working on a biography of MacLane, a 1200-page collection of the secondary literature on her, and other projects, including a potential sequel to "She and I: A Fugue."
