About Jon Sargent

Jon Sargent’s inspiration and love of the outdoors came from the critters he grew up with in Florida. Turtles, bugs and snakes were his constant companions. Now that he lives in Colorado, the love of the outdoors continues to be reflected in his work. His photography uses environmental nudes to explore our strengths and vulnerabilities. He also paints and directs short art films. His work has been showcased in numerous gallery exhibitions.

Jon currently lives with a number of critters at his side: his box turtle Sammy that he found in his backyard when he was 8 years old and his rescue Tortie cat, Jenga. He has yet to find a snake taking up residence under his refrigerator, which was often the case back in Florida. He and his pets nevertheless remain ever vigilant.
