A friend recommended this book and I bought it for my 12-year-old son. We both read it in just a few days - I was really surprised by how much we both enjoyed it. The plot pace was awesome, the characters really engaging and it was actually really funny. A great read for grown ups and kids.

This book had everything a young reader could want - humour, fantasy, magic and adventure!

I loved the rivalry between the characters which made me think of my own sibling rivalry and the rivalry I now see between my own children. I can't wait to see what adventures are in store for Millie and Jake in the next installment of the series - hopefully we don't have to wait to long! ;-)

I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait to hear what my children think of it. Plenty of jokes for parents and references to the way the world works to make it a really enjoyable reading experience for parents reading to their children!!

Children from 9-14 would enjoy this reading it on their own, but I think it would also be enjoyed as a parent co-reading book for 7-8 year olds - depending on their reading level of course!!!
