About Anthony J. Gerst

I reside near the confluence of the Iowa and Mississippi Rivers, in the stomping grounds of Aldo Leopold and Chief Black Hawk. At an early age I began contributing letters to the editor to the Burlington Hawk Eye and have been printed in several states and in various publications around the globe. My area of interest shifted in 2000 from being a political activist to an avid environmental writer. I have contributed to Planet Save, Oped.news and boomer warrior among other sites.

My first book was "Ghosts of the Erie Canal," published in 2005 by Quixote Press. A collection of short stories focusing on historical events that are both entertaining and educational. My first novel, "The HAARP Letters (A Climate Changing Reality," is scheduled for release in January 2016 by Crimson Cloak Publishing. Set mid-century, the story begins in Alaska at a doomsday shelter after an abrupt climate changing event called Big Thunder has occurred. Coming soon in October from Crimson Cloak publishing is an anthology of stories called "Consuming Tales." All profits from which go to helping cancer research for children. I have a short story called "The Haunted Attic," featured in it.
