On November 9th 2015, a group of 6 university students from Coventry were confronted with a challenge: a 72-hour challenge. Their brief was to make a documentary looking at a day in the life of something of their choice, the catch? All recording would have to be done on their phones. In a meeting on the topic of this documentary it became apparent that all were more interested in browsing Facebook and texting friends on their phones, hence the idea, a day in the life of a mobile phone, was born. Over the course of that initial day this idea was to develop into a more in depth look at the way people make use of their mobile phones throughout the day, focusing on the addicting nature of smartphones.
