My favourite part of the book was the action! I really enjoyed the fact that there was constantly something new happening that left you guessing. I loved the fast paced nature and the fact that there were new characters being introduced all the time. It is a genre that I would usually pick and one of the best short stories that I have read as a part of this genre.
The story hooked me right from the very beginning and continued to leave me guessing throughout. It was absolutely a page turner and I finished it in one sitting. Although there was always lots going on and lots of new characters being introduced I still feel like the story flowed well and was easy to read. The story made me feel on edge, but absolutely in the right way! I was constantly feeling that I wanted to know more and was trying to work out how the situation would play out in the end. I really enjoyed seeing how the main character grew throughout the short story. I liked the fact that the protagonist was a strong female character and one of the smaller sub plots was that she was trying to be more independent and cut a man out of her life that she knows is bad for her. The story reminded me of ‘Scandal’ which can be seen on Amazon Prime UK. I think the intended audience for this book is someone who enjoys a shorter story and likes to be kept guessing. They are really easy to read and as there is a series it is best to be someone who has more of a commitment in order to read them all and therefore get the most out of the characters. The most memorable bit about the book for me was most definitely the cliffhanger at the end which left me wanting more! I think the book perfectly lived up to the blurb and gave just enough information to make you want to read more. I would absolutely purchase the next book in the series and have actually reached out to the author personally in order to read the next one and she has very kindly sent it over to me!
