Don't Eat Humans: A Dragon's Rulebook on Life

Rated 3.33/5 based on 3 reviews
There are many myths and stories surrounding us, everyone has their lore, and everyone is wrong. As a Dragon you knew that already, in this primitive language I kept it very short for your benefit. That you may get maximum knowledge with minimum boredom. Enjoy these instructions after your first millennium and keep on pillaging friends, it's our duty to uphold our fake reputation. Grrrr...meh.

This piece was funny. It does a good job of establishing the world and a narrative, even though it is technically all exposition. I especially loved the ending with its strong subversion of machismo and the fact that this is a canon with telepathic dragons.

The title is the best part of the book, I found the concept of dragons living for 1,000 years prior to learning anything less then plausible.

Even given the time issues, I did not find the story as fun as the title had me expecting.

I loved the idea of this book and read it with some enjoyment ... however, for me, it loses it's energy towards the end and also becomes less 'believable' especially in relation to the mind-reading aspect. Perhaps this could instead be something that develops in the next part of their life? Thus giving a fully understandable reason for the book?
