About Gracie A. Matthews

Gracie is originally from Long Island, New York. Currently she resides in North Carolina with her daughter Winter, and two felines named Sarafina Della Snowy and Wolfie Von Mittens. As a young girl her first ambitions were in the helping professions leading her to seek an education in social work. However, disheartened by the injustices of the systems, she now pursues her second love which is writing. Gracie is drawn to reading: her bible, the classics, history, or works relating to personal struggles and victories. Although, she ventures into all genres. When not writing, reading, catching crime dramas on T.V. , hanging out with her daughter, you might catch Gracie baking sweets; chocolate and tea are definitely staples in her life.

remember religion is a man made entity created to control, God and his angels are real but a lot of churches are not. Poetry is the very heart of our souls, a gift from above to heal us and others. I had a chance to have this author on my show and she is awesome, such depth in a broken soul coming out of the darkness with her own light, great poetry wonderful poet beautiful soul.....

This book gives an in depth look of how religion is used as a weapon for power and control, and how the scares never go away.

The poetry in this book paints a picture for you and takes the reader on a journey into the thoughts, experiences, doubts, and dark places of the author. A world the author is gracious enough to open up and share with anyone who will read and get a glimpse into. I'm going to read this collection of poems a few times I'm sure.
