I have to say, I was a little nervous picking this book to read. The title sounded like it may have been more historical than I wanted. I am so glad I took the chance on this one. It delivered sex and mystery as well as a fantasy element that I did not realize I was going to appreciate throughout the story.

We are introduced to Alex Lin. A young, private investigator who is hired to find a missing boyfriend. He's given clues that lead him to Daniel Bitter, who is portrayed in Alex's first interview as a bad guy. He's rich. good looking, and he owns Four Emperors; a "members-only social club". The missing boyfriend, Ken, disappears after work; he happens to work at Four Emperors.

I got quickly embroiled in the story. It was excellent with twists abounding. I liked this book so much, I bought the next book "Three Warlords" right away.

As the story progressed, I found myself holding my breath, and then reading faster so I could read what happened.

It was excellent
