Born, and raised in Arkansas. I left home at the ripe old age of 15, and attempted to hitch hike across the country. I never could stay in one place long after that. An adventurer at heart I wanted to see what was around the next bend. From Louisiana to Michigan, to the coast of California, and the Pacific Northwest.
I began riding motorcycles at 17, and the scars on my body is a road map, but I still ride a 1700 CC bike if my arthritis is not kicking my butt too bad. The roar of the wind, and the sound of pipes give me rest from the cares of the world.
If I’m not doing that these days I am writing. Writing for me is like acting. You have to get into the mind of the character, and come to know him or her. I never plot a story, I get into the mind, and the world of the characters, and they tell me what they want to do, or where they want to go. I just follow along.
My format for writing is the short book, so if you want to read a full novel you won’t find that in any of my stuff. Short story writing is not a failed novel. It takes as much skill to write a short story, as it does anything else. You write, leave the lean, and trim off all the fat. Some of my readers complain about it, and I apologize to those readers who expect a 300 page novel.
