Colt got home just in time to be in the auction benefit. He has no idea what he is doing. He is just home on leave to get his uncle's estate settled. While waiting for his turn to be auctioned off, he sees Talon. Instant attraction. Talon comes with a lot of baggage. She works 2 jobs, is going to school and is the mother to an adopted little boy. She really doesn't want the complication of a man who isn't going to stick around. He doesn't want the complication of a woman who deserves a long-term man. Sometimes we get what we need, not what we want.

I love Sinclair Jayne's male characters. Dark, broody, sort of bad boys with good intentions and hearts of gold. And her female characters are always inspiring; strong women ready to overcome every hurdle life throws their way. The same goes for Colt and Talon. The attraction between them is instant, explosive. And each has a past. Colt has ghosts that haunt him and Talon has struggled every step of the way to get to where she is in life today. They quite complement each other but Colt has to let go of his preconceived notions about the kind of man he is, long enough to give them a chance. Completely in love with the way this book ends and a lovely little teaser to a possible follow-up story in there as well. Keeping my eyes peeled for that one,
