Wonderful adventure! It was different and new, which I really liked. It’s hard to find a story where you don’t feel like you’ve read parts of it before, very refreshing read.

Vila is a young girl that lives on a planet called Niula. By the first chapter I was hooked. She was all alone in a world falling apart around her and she let me come along on her adventure. Then Shul came into the picture, a cool warrior that had been a scribe in the Palace. He had stolen something from the Blue Robes, (kind of like professors), and started the wheels in motion for his part of the escapade.

All the characters were well developed, even the minor ones. I liked that there were twists and turns, good guys and bad guys and quite a bit of mystery involved. You felt like it might have been a medieval setting, but on the world Niula there was always a surprise.

The ending was so amazing, not what I expected at all…Loved this story from start to finish!

Adventure Fantasy fanatics will love this fresh and exciting novel by C.R. Cummings!
Filled with mystery, danger and characters that will snatch up your heart with their odd quirks, undying loyalty and their seemingly endless struggle to survive, you’ll be wanting the second book before you even finish this one!
Vila is not like anyone else in her village. She is not a cliff mover; she is not even good enough to be a mate, and as the darkness grows so does Vila’s feelings of isolation. But fate has a big plan for Vila! She is bestowed with the gift of the crystal, an honor in her village, but it will lead her beyond her village and push her to be more than she ever imagined she could. When her village is destroyed by the darkness Vila sets out to find the answer to the terror destroying the world around her.
Shul is a fierce warrior with a kind heart and gruff voice. Exiled under the penalty of death from the Palace of the Blue Robes for going against their beliefs, Shul has traveled the land searching for answers. His travels become more complicated when he comes upon a small band of youngones. He must now keep them all safe and face down the danger of returning to the Palace to find the answers he seeks, because the darkness must be stopped.
Together Shul and Vila become a force to be reckoned with, the only problem, they hate each other, or do they? Together can they find all the things the evensongs require to save their world? Together can they keep the youngones safe? Can they destroy the darkness before they kill each other? Read Quest of the Evensongs to find out!
Lost in the Evensongs:
Pii is a child prodigy, his best friend is the heir to the planets, he shares his home with a warrior and a ballerina, and to top it off he’s in love with a Gipsie, could his life get any stranger?
The school year is just starting on the sparkling crystal planet at Niula College and Pii is about to learn just how bizarre it can get. A small drop of blood changes his and his friend’s lives forever.
A gripping adventure into fantasy unfolds as eight young college students find their way into the Evensongs, and discover a power beyond their imaginations.
“Lost in the Evensongs” is the second book in the series ‘The Evensongs Trilogy’. It is not the sequel, but the comparison story, bringing both sets of characters to the same place in time. It can be read before or after “Quest of the Evensongs” (though the author likes it after), creating the harmony for “Chorus of the Evensongs” due out the in fall of 2011.

What a fun book! The characters are well developed and undertake quite a journey. From the beginning you feel as if you are part of the story. You want them to succeed in their quest to help the Eversongs. This fantasy adventure keeps you moving right until the end. Can't wait for the sequel!

Heard about this book from a neighbor, and since I usually don't read fantasy, was skeptical, but by the third chapter I was hooked! It is an easy reading book, but with a nice complex plot that all ties together by the end.

Waiting for the sequel!
