Ally was in love with Gavin in High School. They have been friends since grade school. Ally had low self esteem and let someone come between them. Years later, she is back and bidding on him in the auction. Ally needs a date for a wedding weekend and decides to bid large on Gavin. Gavin is floored that Ally could bid that much for him, even if it was for a good cause. Gavin thinks there are too many differences in their lives for them to be together, even though he really wants to always be with Ally. Does she feel the same way?

Ally and Gavin have a history. They are destined to be together. But they keep getting in their own way. I love their mothers though. One quirky, the other wise but both quite in tune with what they kids need. Even though Gavin says that Ally's mom doesn't understand her (after the diner's "friends with benefits" fiasco) I think she's just giving Ally that nudge she needs to give Gavin a go. I wish this wasn't the last book in this series. Now I will have to wait until next year's Bachelor Auction. :-(
