I grew up in the hills of Kentucky. It was a paradise for a young boy climbing the hills, fishing in the creek , eating green apples and catching fireflies.
I recently received a message saying," Do you remember me?" I said, "It's been a long time. I can't remember everyones last name. She said," I think you will remember me." I almost fell in the floor when she told me her name. She was a girl I sat with at the movie theatre when I was about thirteen years old. She inspired the poem titled- 'She said,"I Think You Will Remember Me." '
In high school I moved to Michigan where I continued in school and my uncles taught me the drywall trade. I had some good times in Michigan going to rock concerts, hanging out at the local college. That was a time when the college students would debate anything and everything.
I have moved around like a construction gypsy wherever the work was. Construction work brought me to the beautiful state of Florida some years ago where I reside today. I love it here but still have a piece of my heart in Kentucky and Michigan.
I put 'Poems of the Heart Volume I' together in 2010 and Volume II together in 2011 with the help of friends. Neither have been published. When I finished 'Poems of the Heart Volume III I decided to publish it. If Volume III sells I will publish Volumes I and II. and I am still writing. Maybe there will be a Volume IV.
