Tom Hathaway is a fine writer. His economy of words, his command of prose, his flow of story.... As each story differs, so does its telling, as if each story had a different author, one who participated in the intimacy. Yet too, there's the fine writing consistent throughout. There's something smooth about the way Tom Hathaway carries along the reader through metaphors of greater social injustices. Better than a page turner; there's a deep interest generated by his style alone which carries us along. I not only want to see what he writes about but how he writes about it. They are inseparably fine. Tom Hathaway makes writing look easy.
