About Morgan Smith

Morgan Smith has been a goatherd, an artist, a landscaper, a weaver, a bookstore owner, a travel writer and an archaeologist, and she will drop everything to go anywhere, on the flimsiest of pretexts. Writing is something she has been doing all her life, though, one way or another, and now she thinks she might actually have something to say.

The pace in this story is quick and enjoyable. What happens before and after this day-in-the-life tale is wisely left to the reader's imagination.

This short story hooked me right away, made me wonder who these characters were and where they were and what happened to them. It seems like some past or future world, perhaps primitive ancestors or a post apocalypse future. A small group is hungry and on the hunt but the are is very hostile and dangerous. The author seems to be doing some world building in this short piece, perhaps developing the clan and their situation, setting the stage for a larger story.
