About Steve Howrie

I was born in Leicester, England, but spent most of my adult life in Scotland, where I was a member of Bute Writers group. The interaction, positive feedback and general creative atmosphere of the group both improved my writing and pushed me to become more prolific. (I highly recommend joining a writers' group if you have a passion for writing). During my time in Scotland, I put together a collection of short stories and penned a situation comedy about bagpipes and relationships ('The Pipes, the Pipes), which was staged by a local drama group on the Isle of Bute. You can download the script on this site.

By the way, if you're interested in anything drama-related, I highly recommend you take a look at the Drama Groups website www.dramagroups.com. The site provides online information for amateur dramatic groups.

At university, I studied mathematics and astrophysics. My keen interest in the universe and dimensional spaces, pushed me to write my first time travel novel 'Time Leap', and its sequel 'Time Leap 2'. I'm currently working on a third book in the Time Leap series.

I have lived in China since 2008, and I'm currently based in Suzhou - a beautiful city close to Shanghai, which I highly recommend you visit if you ever come to China. I was a founder member of Suzhou Writers and Artists group and contributed to 'Letters from Suzhou', an anthology of writings published by our group.

Apart from writing books, I play guitar and have written many songs, most of which have been performed in London, Scotland, and Suzhou. A collection of my song lyrics are available here on Smashwords ('Connected to You'). I love writing dialogue (I'm sure you'll realize this from reading my books!) and combined with my passion for music, I was driven to write a musical play. I'll make this available for download on this site soon.

I believe that if you have the passion to do something creative, just go and do it! There is always an outlet for creativity in this World, and even if just one person's life has been touched by what you have written, then it's worth doing.

All the best from China,
Steve.

Really loved this SCI - FI ADVENTURE book. its like you have been given both power and chance to change the world, and the first thing you do is trying to recover everything the world had lost. That's when you start looking out for yourself. Time Leap! intelligently written. ...

Intelligent, and for the most part, imaginative, especially when describing a future device. This could have possibly been a five-star read, if it would have 1) Had a great explanation as to *HOW* the ability to time travel was described, 2) would have had more adventure in ancient China/and the future, and 3) wouldn't have ended so abruptly. One could kind of see what was going to happen, and Joe shouldn't have been so careless given the stakes. Perhaps this was to set up a sequel, which, if the case, (and it should really be) it should be clear. One doesn't really know if it's just one of those stories that is intended to have 'that' sort of ending or not.

Overall, the strongest thing about this story is the intelligent aspect of it, and I would like to read a sequel, IF there's a rewarding conclusion, as well as explaining *HOW*, at least to some degree, it was all possible.
