About Lloyd Figgins

Lloyd Figgins has travelled to over 80 countries and during his time exploring this planet he has been exposed to numerous dangerous situations. He narrowly avoided being kidnapped by militia in the jungles of Colombia during the civil war of the 1990’s, survived a magnitude 6.8 earthquake in Peru and was once targeted in a grenade attack in Syria.

These days, Lloyd uses his experience to teach others how to stay safe when they travel. He is the CEO of LFL Global Risk Mitigation and as a former soldier, police officer and expedition leader, is well placed to share his expertise with others. In Looking for Lemons, Lloyd recounts some of his more “colourful” adventures, as well as providing advice on how to deal with anything from choosing the right seat on an aircraft, through to surviving a terrorist attack.

Lloyd has also led expeditions all over the globe including rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a respected speaker on the subject of risk and crisis management. He often provides commentary in the media and regularly appears on the BBC and Sky News.
