I grew up wanting to be a writer but let my own worries side track me. I worried about steady income, I worried about benefits, I worried about stability, so when it came time to pick a major I went with education. Somewhere along the lines I realized education wasn't for me, so I switched my major to public relations. Turns out public relations and marketing weren't what I wanted to do either. So I yet again switched my major, but this time to journalism. A month into classes my teacher told me my writing was too story book to be concrete journalism. She told me I'd never cut it in the field. I was lost. I didn't know what to do or where to go. Finally it hit me like a fat kid in dodgeball, I wasn't going to be happy until I was doing something I was passionate about, and that was writing.
My name is Nicole Terrigno and I'm currently finishing up my BFA with a concentration in Creative Writing for Entertainment. I'm attending Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida and am set to graduate in January 2017. Full Sail has opened my eyes to the world of creative writing and helped me hone my skills as a writer. I've learned how to properly format scripts, developed a well tuned editor's eye, and write stories for a wide age range from beginning readers all the way up to young adult in a variety of genres.
Life has thrown me some curve balls. I take these experiences and emotions and incorporate them into my writing. I'm a dedicated, hard worker, and a bit hard-headed but in a tough industry like this I think they're all important qualities one should possess. I've also developed a thick skin from my years of customer service working as a waitress. Waitressing and meeting people from many walks of life is something that has greatly influenced me. I take a little bit of all the interesting people and create my characters.
