I was born in East St. Louis, IL, and raised in the small town of Lebanon, IL about 20 miles east of E. St. Louis. I was raised by my grandmother who instilled in me at a very early age to love and fear the Lord. Writing has always been a passion of mine. I was just an adolescent when I wrote my first book. My desire has always been to be self-employed. With this goal in mind I earned an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management from Southwestern Illinois College.
I have had several businesses that started off swell, but after a while I found that my heart wasn’t in them. It wasn’t until I was asked to speak at a Women’s Fellowship by my mentor that the Lord gave me the revelation to write books as a career. My focus from that fellowship turned into my first self-published book, With Faith. I later added a workbook to go along with the book because I felt genuinely passionate about the subject matter, With Faith Accompanying Workbook. I was asked, mid-way of completing my first book, to collaborate on another book, Fit For Your Future, which was published just a short time after With Faith.
I have been married to my college sweetheart for over 14 years. We are the proud parents of our adult daughter Camille and delighted grandparents of little Landon.
Being a former member of O’Fallon Apostolic Assembly in O’Fallon, IL, granted me the opportunity to grow in my walk with the Lord through the preached gospel and the occasion of holding several offices. I was permitted to serve as the Superintendent of Sunday School, President of the Women’s Ministry, Vice President of Hospitality, and Vice President of the Pastor’s Aide Committee. In my new role at Liberty Christian Church in Alton, IL as Church Administrator, I continue to strengthen my walk with Christ and I have been told that my love for souls, positive attitude, gift for administration, and willingness to serve makes me a true asset to the Body of Christ.
I thank God for my mother and especially my grandmother, Mother Ina Neal. My granny, as everyone calls she, is everything anyone would want their grandmother to be. She is kind, compassionate, caring, strong, and a bible toting prayer warrior. Her love and devotion for the Lord has been such an inspiration to me. While I love my mom, and am so grateful to her, I genuinely thank Jesus daily that she allowed my granny to raise me because to see her in action categorically changed my life. There is no doubt in my mind that I am who I am because of her being who she is in God.
