Reviews of The Babbling Brook Naked Poker Club - Book One by Ann Warner

I must admit to being a reluctant reader of this genre, but The Babbling Brook Naked Poker Club was a very pleasant surprise. The dialogue rings true, and the plot ranges in depth and subject. With its ironic sense of humor and true depths of character, Ann Walker pulls you in to a world where friendships are forged and even the villains have a chance at redemption.

Overall a great read with an engaging gaggle of voices.

A cozy mystery that draws you right in from page 1 with its witty descriptions and great characters. But the real surprise is the emotional depth of the story. Loved it!

Dear Ann, I had read all 3 of your books available here and each has it's own story to tell and so different. I love all 3 of them, obviously. :)

Great storyline, engaging, funny in a non-obvious way, and beautifully written. Each chapter is told from the perspective of various likeable characters. Then throw in a few villains of varying levels of villainousness (I think I just made up a word). I could visualize each person, place and event. Looking forward to the next one.

True to its cozy mystery genre, this story was very entertaining and I happily fell into its rhythm from the first chapter. Delightful characters, no untied ends combined with excellent editing and research, which I appreciate.
Highly recommended.
Thanks for the read Ann!

A most enjoyable read. Engaging characters, well written and edited, decent plot, and paced fast enough that it was hard to put down.
Dont be put off by the "part 1", while the characters may continue into further stories, the main plots of this story are sufficiently well ended. Thanks for making it available.

This is a thrilling and entertaining story. The characters of Josephine, Devi & Mac are my favourites, you can't help routing for these guys. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.
